Literary Translator & Writer | University Lecturer | PhD in English LiteratureMiaad Banki is a writer and literary translator based in Tehran. His work focuses on "visceral" and subversive voices that challenge linguistic and social boundaries. As the authorized Persian translator for Ariana Harwicz, Brenda Navarro, and Fernanda Trías, he is dedicated to connecting contemporary global avant-garde movements with Persian readers through ethical publishing practices.His fiction, critical essays, and interviews with contemporary authors explore the intersections of trauma and language. His work has appeared or are forthcoming in The Short Story Project, Asymptote, Full Stop, Public Books, Hopscotch Translation, Across The Margin and Latin American Literature Today. His translation portfolio also includes works by Jeanette Winterson, Roxane Gay, and Alia Trabucco Zerán. Banki is also a university lecturer, focusing on the aesthetics of contemporary narrative.
